After writing all my tips for savvy fabric shopping online, I wanted to put together a guide to online fabric stores that would be a great companion for sewists.

I really wanted to be as comprehensive as I possibly could be. This post is the result of a ton of research, and looking through great online fabric stores I thought people would enjoy. You’ll see everything here from small Etsy sellers, mom-and-pop shops to big one-stop-shop places.

Check out the different categories of online fabric stores by what they sell and also by geography. Most of the shops are in the US, but I also included Canada, Australia, the UK and a couple others too.

And if you’re intimidated about buying fabric online, be sure to check out my 16 tips for better fabric shopping online. I promise you’ll feel more comfortable buying something as tactile as fabric in our Amazon Prime world.

And one more disclaimer, this list is not meant to replace shopping for fabric in actual brick and mortar stores. It’s important to support local businesses. For those of us who don’t live close to great fabric shops like this, think of this list of where to buy fabric online as a way to bring the shops to you. In a weird way, shopping for fabric online actually allows you to support small fabric shops from afar–those very same shops that are vital to our sewing craft!

Be sure to use the table of contents at the top of pages to help you navigate and find the online fabric stores that you’re interested in. There’s 200+ places to browse, and I feel like I’ve just scratched the surface. Here we go!
